How to speak here
Share a similar experience and lead with empathy, not judgment. Be careful with advice nobody asked for, and generous with small words of support.
Please do not
We do not allow attacks, insults or harassment of others, discrimination or hate, sharing other people's private information, requests for money and scams, ads and spam, aggressive proselytizing or forcing beliefs, content that encourages self-harm or violence, or dangerous medical and legal advice.
Posting AI-written text as if a person wrote it is not allowed either.
Reporting and blocking
Use the menu on any story or comment to report it or block its author. A story reported by several people may be hidden until the operator takes a look.
Swearing and spam are checked automatically first. Flagged items are not deleted; they are kept under review, and the operator decides whether to publish or remove them.
You can only send messages to people you follow each other with. Report unwanted messages or block the sender. Blocking removes the follow in both directions and closes the conversation.
If things feel too heavy
If you are in danger right now, call your local emergency number. In the US and Canada you can call or text 988. In the UK and Ireland you can call Samaritans at 116 123. In other countries, findahelpline.com lists local lines. In Korea, call 109 for the suicide prevention hotline, or 119 or 112 in an emergency.
OONYU does not replace counseling, treatment or emergency services. If hard feelings stay with you, please reach out to someone close to you or a professional.
